Tourism Secy reviews projects in Nubra Valley : The Tribune India

Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Ladakh, during his visit to Nubra Valley, made a detailed assessment of the current and proposed projects. He visited several sites in Sumoor near Buddha Park and saw the progress of the work on site.

He instructed relevant officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for additional facilities such as performance area, sound and light system, parking lot, restrooms, changing rooms, facelift in addition to others. facilities required at the amphitheater through a consultant.

While interacting with local residents, Khan said the Department of Tourism and Culture has made efforts to improve tourist facilities in the Nubra Valley. He assured that requests, including the development of sand dunes at Sumoor and the inclusion of Sumoor Fort on the heritage list, would be considered.

The tourism secretary, accompanied by a team of officials, also inspected the medicinal hot spring building and the public convenience of Panamik and ordered the officials to immediately cordon off the site of the tourist facility. He inspected the area for further development as a well developed and managed hot water based massage center.
