“Traitor, Survivor, Icon: The Legacy of La Malinche:” A figure in Mexican, Spanish, and indigenous history, La Malinche has been called a traitor as well as “mother of Mexico.” His enduring and controversial legacy is the focus of this Denver Art Museum exhibit featuring 68 works by 38 artists. A video presents her as the interpreter of Hernán Cortés as well as the mother of his first son. Learn how its political impact was felt on the US-Mexico border. denverartmuseum.org.
