SUV crash with farm vehicle seriously injures 1 near Moses Lake
For those who may not be aware, a Harrowbed is a machine used to collect and stack bales of hay.
You’ve probably seen one before, but you just didn’t know what it was called. One of those machines was involved in an accident just outside Moses Lake on Monday, Memorial Day.
Grant County MPs responded to the intersection of two county roads near the city around 10:30 a.m. Monday to a report of an accident between an SUV and a Harrowbed.
Officials say the SUV, driven by Rachael Bylin, 37, from Enumclaw, was heading south and failed to stop a stop sign at an intersection. His Dodge Durango collided with a 1978 New Holland harrow driven by Virgil Redwine, 68, of Moses Lake.
Redwine suffered fatal injuries and was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Wenatchee. Bylin was injured, but his life was not in danger. She was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
Three minors in Bylin’s vehicle, aged 8, 11 and 13, were not injured. Grant County MPs continue to investigate the incident. No update on the status of Redwine was available.
