Rick Rice Park, a 13-acre green space with amenities that include Francesca’s Garden, the CanCare Pavilion and Veterans Memorial Plaza, has added new games to its half-mile trail, including a set of jump prints model, two hopscotch patterns, and a preview tutorial of the “tree” yoga pose, officials shared in a June 20 press release. These games can be found on the trail north of the lake loop past the CanCare Overlook near a sitting area for adult supervision.
Rick Ellis, chairman of the board of Interstate MUD — the entity that built the Katy area park in 2009 and provides water and wastewater services to the area — approved the additions. at the space located just south of I-10 at 700 Westgreen Boulevard, Katy.
“We are excited to bring these new amenities to the Katy area community,” Ellis said in the press release. “We also look forward to sharing additional improvements to the park as we develop the 4.2 acres of land we recently acquired from CrossRoad Church. .”
The Rick Rice Park Trail loops around a lake and features over 500 trees, a pedestrian bridge, artwork, and educational signs.
