Courtney “To research” Michelle Schoner, 33, of Mayfield, New York, died of a long illness on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on June 22, 1988 in Amsterdam, New York, the daughter of Joseph “Dad” and Michelle (LeFever) Schoner. She attended Mayfield High School and after graduation received her Bachelor of Health degree from Berkley University. She went on to earn an Honors Masters in Health Care Administration from Strayer University. After graduation, Court found a job with Manhattan Orthopedics, working for Dr. Herschman, and recently accepted a position as a health care administrator for the New York Jets football team.
When Courtney was not at work, she loved to watch football. She also had a passion for bird watching, especially hummingbirds. She has done her whole life to help others. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, adored her pets, and was dedicated to her significant other, Daniel. Short always seemed to grab life and run with it. She always had a beautiful smile.
Courtney is survived by her parents, Joseph E. and Michelle M. Schoner Jr .; his brother, Joseph E. Schoner III; his nephew, Noah Schoner; his niece, Ariana Schoner, his uncle, Mark (Fran) LeFever; his significant other, Daniel Guest; his godfathers, George and Di, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Richard (Marie) LeFever and Doris Rochler.
Courtney’s family will receive relatives and friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville for a visitation period. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rosalyn Guest officiating. Masks are mandatory.
Interment will be held in private at the convenience of Courtney’s family.
