Canyoning in Badian suspended due to bad weather

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Due to bad weather, authorities in Badian, a city in southwest Cebu, have suspended canyoning activities.

The Badiane Tourist Office, through its social media arm Breathtaking Badian, has announced that from Thursday 3rd November it will be suspending canyoning operations there until further notice.

“Badian Canyoneering activity is suspended (November 3, 2022) until further notice, due to adverse weather conditions which may cause untoward incidents that may occur,” the notice read.

“We value the safety of our tourists above all else,” he added.

Canyoning in Badian usually takes place in the city’s famous Matutinao River and ends at Kawasan Falls, also a popular tourist spot.

Badian is a 3rd class municipality located about 104 kilometers southwest of Cebu. /rcg
