A delicate situation in Yemen has reached a critical juncture, as Saudi Arabia takes a stand against Emirati-backed separatists. On Christmas morning, Saudi Arabia issued a public statement urging the Southern Transitional Council, a separatist group supported by the United Arab Emirates, to withdraw from two governorates in Yemen. This move has the potential to either defuse tensions or ignite a confrontation within the coalition fighting the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry's statement emphasized the need for all Yemeni factions to cooperate and exercise restraint.
