SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Junior forward Avery Koenen has been honored as the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Koenen helped the Bison (8-2) extend their winning streak to six with a standout performance at Eastern Illinois last week. The Montevideo, Minnesota product poured in a game-high 22 points and grabbed a career-best 16 rebounds, recording her fourth consecutive double-double. She also contributed four steals, three assists, and one block to her totals.
nationally, Koenen sits among the leaders in several categories: third in field goal percentage at 69.1%, eighth in double-doubles with six, and 15th in defensive rebounds per game at 7.8.
